Conference Purpose
The Indian Health Service Division of Behavioral Health is proud to present the 2009 National Behavioral Health Conference, the nation's premiere opportunity for collaboration, networking, strategy-building, and knowledge-sharing for behavioral health care providers working in Indian Country.

Honoring Our Traditions, While Embracing ChangeThis year's conference explores innovative and best practice approaches to behavioral health integration while honoring and demonstrating a commitment to Native traditional ways.

Conference Objectives

  • Create an opportunity to collaborate, network, and share effective strategies on behavioral health issues prevalent in American Indian and Alaska Native communities.
  • Provide the most up-to-date information regarding best and promising practices on a variety of behavioral health topics.
  • Increase awareness and understanding of current and emerging behavioral health programs and initiatives.

Conference Audience
Tribal leaders, doctors, nurses, behavioral health program providers, substance abuse program providers, psychologists, therapists, counselors, social workers, traditional service providers, health program administrators, youth, elders, and other concerned community members are highly encouraged to attend.
